Donskoy Cats

The Donskoy, also called the Don Sphynx, is a rare and hairless cat breed that first appeared in Russia in the late 1980s. While it looks similar to the Sphynx, its bald appearance comes from a different genetic mutation. Some Donskoys are completely hairless, while others have a light fuzz. Their wrinkled skin, almond eyes, and angular faces give them a striking, almost alien look.
Despite their appearance, Donskoys are warm, loving, and extremely loyal. They crave attention and love spending time with their people. Many even behave like dogs—following you around, greeting you at the door, and learning simple tricks. These cats are social and thrive when included in daily life.
Because they have no protective fur, Donskoys need special care. They benefit from regular baths to remove excess oil, need to stay warm indoors, and should avoid direct sun. While not hypoallergenic, they often cause fewer allergy issues than other breeds.
If you’re looking for a bold and affectionate cat with a unique look and tons of personality, the Donskoy could be your perfect match.
