About Catpedia

Hi! I’m Debbie, the owner and editor of Catpedia.net. I’ve been a lifelong cat lover and a dedicated researcher of all things feline — from behavior and nutrition to breed history and everyday cat care.

Catpedia began as a passion project and has grown into a place where I share clear, friendly, well-researched information for cat parents. I currently share my home with two wonderful rescue cats — Snickers and Bigboy — who inspire so many of the articles, guides, and product reviews you’ll find here.

What You’ll Find on Catpedia

My goal is to make Catpedia a warm, reliable resource for cat owners — whether you’re researching a breed, trying to understand a new behavior, or looking for trustworthy product recommendations. Every article is written with care, backed by reputable sources, and reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and real-world usefulness.

I’m not a veterinarian, and I don’t claim to be — but I do spend hundreds of hours researching cat health, reviewing scientific studies, consulting veterinary references, and transforming complex topics into easy-to-understand guides. When needed, I link to licensed veterinarians, medical resources, and trusted organizations to ensure readers get the most accurate and up-to-date information possible.

Why I Created Catpedia

Like many cat owners, I’ve spent countless late nights searching for answers to everything from “why is my cat licking me?” to “how do I help my anxious cat feel safe?” I wanted a single place where cat parents could find trustworthy, straightforward guidance without the overwhelm — so I created Catpedia.

My mission is simple: to help you feel informed and confident while giving your cat the healthiest, happiest life possible.
